Rainbow Music is my local guitar store of choice. After merging with one of the other great guitar stores in town, the new Rainbow Store is as big as most Guitar Center, or Sam Ash stores. You really have to see it to believe it.
Once upon a time, State College, PA had a couple small music stores. I remember it this way for the first 10 years I lived here. Then Rainbow Music opened, and we had yet another small guitar store. Then they lost their lease.
Rather than close shop, the owner of Rainbow Music, merged with another local music store, moved into a huge building with 2 floors, and packed it floor to ceiling with more amps, pedals, guitars, drums than this city has ever seen. It’s good to live in State College, but even if you don’t, if you’re within driving distance, you won’t regret the trip.
